The home side dominated from start to finish in difficult conditions at Castle Park this afternoon. The first chance arrived on 5 minutes Shaun Curran’s corner met with a powerful header from Michael Barr only for Frizzel to tip over. Hugh Aaron McGonagle was next to threaten his shot just going the wrong side of Frizzel’s post.

The Inishowen League are pleased to announce the appointment of Gary Duffy as Manager of this season’s Oscar Traynor team. Gary has assembled a talented backroom team of Gerard Crossan ( Assistant Manager ) , Daniel Doherty (Coach ), Thomas Mulhern ( Coach ) ,Seanan Murphy (Physio ) and Barry Dillon ( Kitman ). The first leg versus the Donegal Junior League is due to take place in Ballyare on Saturday 21st November 2026 k/o 1pm and the return leg is due to take place in Maginn Park on Saturday 12th December 2026 k/o 2pm. We would like to wish Gary , his backroom and his players every success in this season’s tournament.

Aileach got a dream start in the opening minute after a Caoimhin McFeely cross was slotted past Josh Caldwell from close range. Caldwell then made a superb save to turn away a Dillon McGrory effort. The home side replied and equalised on 8 minutes after Ryan Sharkey fed Luke McFadden , pictured , on the left and he cut inside before curling a brilliant effort into the bottom corner. But Aileach hit back and regained the lead with a  powerful twenty five yards strike from Peter Boyle .McMonagle then added his second goal when he evaded a defender and slotted home from fifteen yards.  The home side then saw efforts from Ryan Sharkey saved and his brother Cian shoot just over.

This early kick off saw the visitors start well and on 5 minutes good control from Liam Duncan saw his attempted lob crash off the bar with keeper Kevin Wallace stranded.  The home side replied with a deep corner from Ross Nicholas finding Josh McConnellogue whose header was cleared off the line.
