Dunree Res 0
Cockhill Res 0
This local derby was a very close hard fought affair with few chances in the first half. Midway through the half the home side were unlucky after a Conor Doherty corner broke to Joe Carlin but his goal bound effort was cleared off the line by Liam Lynch. Before the break Cockhill replied and Kevin McDaid saw a well struck twenty yards shot tipped over by keeper James Doherty. Dunree had the first chance of the second period on 56 minutes when Jerry Farrell unleashed a twenty five yards effort which Lynch gathered well. Play swung to the other end then and from a tight angle Gary Breslin had a low effort well saved by James Doherty at his near post. Both sides spurned gilt edged late chances with the unmarked Peter O’Neill getting on the end of a Conor Doherty cross but heading straight at Lynch. At the other end a brilliant lay off by McDaid found Breslin unmarked twelve yards out but he failed to hit the target.
