Gleneely Colts                      3

Cockhill took the lead on 25 minutes when Kevin McDaid finished well from just inside the box after a great through ball by Barney Gubbins. They made it 2 – 0 shortly afterwards when Gary Breslin scored with a neat finish. Just before half time Gleneely pulled one back when Christy Smith scored with a long range effort in to the top corner as the home side failed to clear properly following a corner. Both teams passed up some decent chances after the break up until the 80 minute mark. Then Gleneely snatched an equaliser when Christy Smith made it 2 -2. Cockhill came close to regaining the lead when Mark Gillespie headed wide from an Eddie Cuffe cross. Cuffe then had a chance to put Cockhill in front again but his effort on goal was easily saved. There was late drama as Gleneely were awarded a penalty. Gary Robinson in the home goals got a good hand to Joe McLaughlin’s penalty but the ball found the back of the net to edge Gleneely in front. However, Cockhill managed a late equaliser after the ball broke in the box to Gary Breslin who slotted home from 5 yards to make it 3-3.
