Played in good conditions ,Aileach threatened early on in the 8th minute when Andrew Walker crossed from the right but Ben Gill was on hand to prevent Aaron Clarke Doherty from getting a shot away.
Two minutes later Yanga Maloda ran on to a long clearance and was bearing down on the Clonmany box but Torin Harkin was out sharply to save at Yanga’s feet on the 18yd line. Aileach were awarded a penalty in the
15th minute when John Eyre was fouled in the box ,Yanga Maloda stepped up and shot low to Torin’s right hand post but Torin guessed correctly and dived to save Yanga’s shot . Clonmany then took the lead in the 19th minute when Eithain Devlin sent Tyler McEleney clear with a ball played behind the Aileach defence and his left foot shot carried enough power to beat Dylan Clarke in the Aileach goals despite him getting a hand to it. Clonmany went close to doubling their lead in the 26th minute when Michael Devlin’s corner from the right was half cleared and Martin Doherty picked up the loose ball 20yards out from goals and his shot glanced off Aileach’s right hand post and behind to the relief of Dylan Clarke.
Half-time Clonmany Res 1 Aileach Youths 0
The second half had barely started when Clonmany made it 2-0. Pearse McCarron received the ball 20yards out in front of the Aileach goal and struck a fierce shot which deflected off an unlucky Aileach defender and ended up in the top right hand corner of the net past the wrong-footed Dylan Clarke. Pearse almost made it 3-0 in the 48th minute when Tyler McEleney crossed from the right and Pearse sidefooted a shot from 8yards out and Dylan Clarke made an outstanding save to block on his line and the ball was cleared to safety. Pearse McCarron did make it 3-0 to Clonmany in the 51st minute when Martin Doherty sent Tyler away on the right and he centred to Pearse on the arc of the penalty box and he curled a left foot shot to the bottom right hand corner of the Aileach net beyond Dylan Clarke’s dive. Aileach still threatened to get behind Clonmany’s defence and they needed Torin Harkin to come out sharply in the 56th minute to save at the feet of Aaron Clarke Doherty when he
broke clear. Clonmany player-manager Michael Devlin added a fourth goal in the 63rd minute when he was set up inside the box and he calmly tucked the ball away. Pearse McCarron completed his hat-trick in the 66th minute with another superb curling shot to the bottom corner from 20yards out. Aileach left back Gavin Bradley was very unlucky in the 71st minute to see a shot from 35yards out crash back off Torin Harkin’s left hand post and fortunately for Clonmany the rebound came to Jack Doherty and he cleared the ball to safety. Aileach kept pressing and Clonmany needed Torin Harkin to pull off a string of saves to thwart their attacks. In the 79th minute Aileach were awarded a free kick 25 yards out and their substitute Aaron Doherty took it sending his shot just over the Clonnmany crossbar. Aileach got a consolation goal in the 88th minute when Aaron Doherty broke in from the left wing and shot past Torin Harkin from a tight angle to leave the full-time score :

Sea Rovers 1
This match proved to be a very competitive, entertaining affair from start to finish. Both sides gave as good as they got in the early stages with good attacking play without either keep really being tested. It was Sea Rovers who took the lead midway through the first half when Joey Holland was fouled in the box. Christy McDaid made no mistake from the spot, sending Cockhill keeper Eoin Colhoun the wrong way. The young Cockhill side responded well as the half drew on and were awarded a penalty of their own on the stroke of half time. A deliberate hand ball on the line from Joey Holland saw him red carded and the spot kick awarded. Sean Bradley stepped up but Sea Rovers keeper Marc McLaughlin made a good save to deny the Cockhill captain from the spot. Cockhill started the 2nd half well, making the most of the extra man advantage. Cockhill levelled the match up on 55 minutes as Niall Breslin forced the ball home through a crowded 6 yard box after being picked out by Devin McCarron. 5 minutes later Cockhill were ahead and rewarded for their continued pressure. Devin McCarron played a great through ball to Shayne Gallagher who took a great first touch on the run round the advancing Marc McLaughlin and fired it home from a tight angle past the recovering Sea Rovers defenders. Sea Rovers showed why they sit top of the division and never gave it up. Throwing everything at the young Cockhill side as the game went on but Cockhill put their bodies on the line with some resolut defending and a fantastic save late on by Eoin Colhoun from a deflected Christy McDaid effort was enough to earn Cockhill a hard fought 3 points.

Rashenny RES 1
In a game played under the lights in Trawbreaga Park on Saturday night, the contest was fairly even throughout. Lots of commitment was shown and the result was right in doubt until the Youths struck for the winner as the game moved into injury time. The Reserves had the first chance of note on the quarter hour when Christy Ivers delivered a through ball to Dylan McGonigle but his effort was narrowly wide. At the other end Kyrin Kelly had a shot palmed away by keeper Conor McGonigle who also saved a close range attempt from Leo Devlin. And Devlin was out of luck again when McGonigle dealt with his shot from just outside the box. The Reserves carved out a chance when Nathan Doherty got to the end line and pulled the ball back but Ivers fluffed the opportunity. The Youths struck for the lead just before the interval. Eoin Fowley launched a long ball from midfield which was allowed to bounce inside the box and with the Res defence not dealing with the situation Leo Devlin had the simple task of firing into the net. Early in the second half the Youths were reduced to ten men when a Res forward bearing down on goal was taken out by a defender. And they came close to getting level from the resultant free but Nathan Doherty saw his 22 yard free kick smack off the face of the crossbar before being cleared. Kelly for the Youths shot over when well placed before the Res Jonny McCarron’s pull back from the end line was blazed over by Ivers when it seemed easier to score. Nathan Doherty then was out of luck with a free from distance that went just over. With ten minutes manager Danny Grant made an inspired substitution, bringing on Kalvin Walsh and within seconds the sub had driven a low ground shot to the net from the edge of the area following good approach work involving Ivers and Dylan McGonigle. The Youths struck for the winner right at the end of the 90 mins when left back Adam Doherty’s sweetly struck looping effort from wide on the wing dropped in at the back post.
