Clonmany started well and on 4 minutes Alex McFadden cut in from the right and his driven cross eluded all. The visiotrs did take the lead on 20 minutes after Jason Devlin fed Conor Doherty who played Jamie Coyle through but when his effort was well saved
by Johnathan Noone the loose ball saw Aaron Porter fire to the roof of the net. Illies spurned a good chance to level matters midway through the half after Paul Duffy crossed from the left to Oran Doherty whose low shot was saved by the legs of Zach Conlon. Clonmany then doubled their lead after Jason Devlin overlapped on the left and crossed for McFadden to shoot to the roof of the net. McFadden had the final chance of the half when on the stroke of half time he burst into the area but failed to hit the target when well placed. Ten minutes after the break the visitors increased their lead when Jamie Coyle broke into the area and squared the ball for McFadden to slot home. Almost immediately at the other end Darragh Byrne broke clear of the home defence but dragged his effort across Dillon Clarke and wide. Moville Celtic 1
Movilel had the first opportunity of the game after a long ball from Daniel McFadden found Norbert Indyka but his effort drew a brilliant save from Michael Mclaughlin in the home goal. The home side then broke the deadlock on the half hour after John McDaid pounced on a defensive pass and squared the ball for Joe Doherty to slot home from eight yards. They got a goal back on 71 minutes after an Evan Hudner cross was only half cleared allowing Lee McColgan to drive to the top corner from fifteen yards. Moville also had penalty claims waved away and had the final effort of the game when a long range shot from Deaglan Lynch was pushed round the post by Mclaughlin.
Cockhill Youths 8
Dunree United 3
The home side began well and a PJ Doherty cross was headed over by Darragh McDermott. They opened the scoring on 18 minutes after a good run by Danny McDaid ended when he pulled the ball back for McDermott to slot home. They added a second goal before the break with McDermott seeing his header well saved by Adam Harrigan but he reacted well to score from the rebound. Five minutes after half time the Youths added a third goal after Conor Allens cross was only half cleared to Paul Mullan who drove low to the net. They went close again when Dohertys free kick drew an absolutely stunning save from Harrigan. Dunree then got a goal back on the hour mark after a Sean McColgan cross was met by a glancing header from Aaron Harkin to the far corner. But within minutes Cockhill responded and Kieran McElroy guided a Danny McDaid free kick past Harrigan to make it four one. Dunree then responded again with McColgan advancing and firing a thirty yards effort to the top corner. But once again the home side hit back within two minutes after McDermott rounded keeper Harrigan to see his shot cleared off the line but Mullan slotted home. Illies Res 6
In an incredible game Illies trailed by seven goals to one at the break and have only themselves to blame for spurning a number of great chances. They started well with John Campbell seeing a shot and a header both saved by Kyrin Doherty when he had clear sights of goal in the opening ten minutes. Clonmany opened the scoring then in the 10th minute when Joe Doherty slipped the ball into Tyler McEleney to fire low past Conor Doherty. A minute later McEleney fed Tiernan McDonald who squeezed the ball home from a tight angle. At the other end after a scramble in the area Campbell blazed wildly over when he looked destined to score. Clonmany responded with another two goal in as many minutes. First the Illies defence failed to deal with a long ball from Dylan McEleney and Tyler McEleney calmly slotted home before Mc Donalds effort was well parried by Doherty but McEleney pounced to complete his hat trick. On 31 minutes McDonald flicked the ball on to McEleney who squared for Noah Diver to slot home from close range. The home side added a sixth when Divers effort was well saved by the home defence failed to react and McEleney pounced for his fourth of the game. Lorcan McGonigle then got in on the act with a thunderous thirty yards effort to the roof of the net to leave Clonmany seven one ahead at the interval. Illies began the second period well and Campbell fired wide with the gol at his mercy while Caelan Whoriskey also failed to hit the target when well placed. They got a goal back on 57 minutes when hesitancy in the home defence allowed Whoriskey to drill home. A minute later Campbell further reduced the deficit with a good finish from fifteen yards. On 70 minutes it was seven four when a rebound inside the area fell to Campbell who slotted home. When Campbell completed his hat trick minutes later racing onto a ball over the top to fire past Doherty an unlikely comeback looked possible. Illies made it seven six in the 82nd minute with Campbell grabbing a fourth goal after the home defence failed to clear. Illies poured forward but the final chance fell to the home side when Ethan Devlin broke clear only to see his effort come off the bar.
Culdaff Res 3
Cockhill Colts 4
IN a competitive and entertaining game under the lights in Caratra Park on Satrurday evening the Colts had the first chance but a Niall Gordon effort was well blocked by Sonny Bonner. Culdaff responded and when Gary Smyths superb pass sent Dylan Mclaughlin away on the right he advanced only to drag his effort wide of Graham Dohertys goal. The home side had another golden chance after a Bryan McCandless cross found the unmarked McLaughlin who somehow failed to convert at the back post. The visitors punished the home side for these missed chances when they took the lead after Mark Moran beat a couple of defenders and finished low into the bottom corner giving Odhran Douglas no chance for a superb individual goal. They doubled their lead on the half hour when Moran and Gavin Doherty combined for Doherty to advance and chip the advancing Douglas. Culdaff kept pressing and Smyth headed another good chance wide at the back post before they got a goal back in the 43rd minute when McCandless capitalised on indecision in the visitors defence to side foot into an empty net. The home side then got a deserved equaliser on the stroke of half time after Smyth got on the end of a Paul Fisher corner to powerfully head to the net. In the opening period of the second half Tiernan McGeoghaghan for the home side and Moran for the visitors were just off target with good efforts. Cockhill regained the lead on 66 minutes when again good work from Moran saw his cross slotted home by Kevin McDaid. However Culdaff responded again and made it three all on 75 minutes when a superb cross from Billy Hume was headed home by Smyth for his second of the night. The home side kept pressing with Hume again crossing for Caden Doherty who got a tough on the ball but not enough to force it home. But the Colts struck for the winner in the 83rd minute after Dohertys cross from the left was headed home by Darragh Lyons to advance to the next round after an excellent game.

Carn Res 4
Played in excellent conditions on Saturday evening the visitors had the upper hand throughout and deservedly emerged victorious. In a bright opening half Matthew McLaughlin came closest on a number of occasions firstly holding off Adam Doherty and getting off an angled drive which flew over the bar, then firing over the target after a pull back from near the end line and he was out of luck on a third occasion when his effort hit the bar on its way over. Home goalkeeper Sam Coyle then had to deal with a Caomhan Canny header from Tiernan Diver’s right wing cross before making further saves from McLaughlin who turned a defender and drilled in a low shot and then claiming low at the near post from another McLaughlin attempt. Rasheney’s best opening came close to half time when Shea Grant delivered in from the left wing and when keeper Jack O’Brien punched clear under pressure from Damien Friel the ball fell to Leo Devlin who took a touch and blasted over. After the break Friel’s through ball set up Grant inside the box but the Carn defence prevailed. Carn broke the deadlock on 55 minutes when Conor Doherty’s left wing corner ended up in the net despite the efforts of the home keeper and defence to keep the ball out. A low ground shot from the visitors Mc Laughlin was then saved by Coyle before sub Kayden Taitt found himself well placed inside the area but good defensive work from Eoin Fowley saw the ball cleared. The final ten minutes saw Carn score three goals. A left wing corner into the near post resulted in the ball being blocked and Shane McGuinness scored low from six yards. Then McLaughlin set up sub Tiernan Cantwell to finish to the net before Cantwell got his second when he surged through and despite attempts by Coyle and Adam Doherty to halt his progress he evaded both and rolled the ball into a gaping goal. Rasheney tried in vain to get on the scoresheet near the end. An Izaak Diver right wing delivery just evaded Grant in the six yard box and a Grant corner was headed over by Abdul Alrasheed.

Cockhill equalised shortly after when a Tiernan Moran free came off the bar and Breslin was on hand to slot home the rebound. Cockhill then took the lead after a corner was not cleared by the home defence and Cahir McDaid shot low to the corner past Sharkey. But the home side levelled just after half time when Paul Jackson advanced on the right and fired low to the bottom corner from twenty yards. Minutes later Rovers added another when a cross in from Mooney came off Carrowmena defender on its way to the net. Rovers were rampant at this stage and a fine strike by Conor Mc Closkey forced the Carrowmena keeper Rhys Kerr into a fine save. The visitrs then got a goal back after a good run and cross from Darragh McGuinness was superbly headed to the roof of the net by Cahir McElhinney.
