Ten minutes later at the other end Rudden raced clear but Jamie Doherty matched him yard for yard and poked the ball to safety. Carn were well in the game at this stage and a dangerous cross from Kelly was gathered by Doherty at the second attempt. Cockhill substitute Jay Bradley made an immediate impact when he cut along the by-line but McDaid intercepted the cross before the same player raced onto Ruddens flick but Doherty diverted the ball for a corner.
