Inishowen travel to Ballyare for second leg of Oscar Traynor

Inishowen look to overturn a three two deficit when they travel to Ballyare this weekend in the Oscar Traynor  Inter League competition.  The home side will be full of confidence after  their victory in Maginn Park and Inishowen will certainly have to defend better having been caught out twice on the break and then conceding a last minute goal from a corner. Inishowen will be without the influential Lee McColgan who suffered a broken cheekbone and the suspended Luke Rudden  for this encounter so the squad will be stretched a little. But  with the likes of Peter Doherty, John G McLaughlin, Thomas McMonagle, Brendan McLaughlin , James Henry ,Kieran McDaid, Terence Doherty  & Christy McLaughlin in their ranks they have more than enough experience to pose a threat. The Inishowen management will hope that the likes of Adam Curran, Lee McLaughlin, Calvin Gallagher & Oisin Hession will have benefitted from that outing in Maginn while Johnathan Noone and Taylor Clarke will vie for the number one slot. In addition it is hoped Paul Doherty Illies Celtic and Corey McBride Cockhill Celtic will both be available while Clonmanys Jake Harkin will be hoping  to see some action this week. No doubt Donegal at home will be favourites but Inishowen will be hoping to  spoil their party with the prize for the winner a home quarter final .

Domestically there is a curtailed programme of events with the Inish Grass Division Two shield quarter finals down for decision. Declan Kearneys  Cockhill Colts having defeated Glengad Res earlier in the league will be confident of advancing to the semi finals but Aiden Houton’s side have shown improved form of later. There is a local derby in Gleneely where  Gavin McLaughlin’s home side welcome neighbours Culdaff Res under Derek Doherty and having convincingly defeated Culdaff in the league the home side will be hot favourites. Sea Rovers manager Glen Watson knows his side will be expected to account for Mickey Nicholas QPS Youth on home soil while the final quarter final tie sees Carrowmena under Kevin McLaughlin entertain Stephen O’Donnell’s Aileach Youth and this one could go either way.

There are three games in division one with a crucial relegation game between Clonmany Res and Dunree while Greencastle Youths host Buncrana Res at Chapel Lane and Cockhill  Youths host Carn Res .
