Carn FC 1
Clonmany Shamrocks 2
In a very hard fought closely contested contest the home side started well and Darragh Deery sliced his effort and when it fell to Shane Doherty he fired narrowly over. Ryan Mclaughlin then had a shot on the run which just cleared the angle of the post and bar. Clonmany settled and took the lead on 36 minutes when Paul McDermott won possession and crossed for Mikey Friel to fire past Daniel Houghton from six yards. But Carn equalised within minutes when Ryan Kelly and Shane Doherty played a one two for Doherty’s low cross to be slotted past Patrick Harkin by Deery. The second half saw both teams contest well and the visitors took the lead again midway through the half when Michael Devlin pulled the ball across goal for Ferghal Harkin to drill low past Houghton. Carn replied and a Ronan Doherty effort just cleared the bar while a Darragh Deery effort was saved by Harkin. On the break Clonmany had the final chance when a Devlin effort was brilliantly tipped over by Houghton.
