This backlog game from the previous round saw the home side start well with Conor McCahill beating his man and cross for Dermot Doherty to shoot straight at Aaron Hepburn. They opened the scoring on 11 minutes when Eamon Browns ball over the top found Stephen O Donnell who was challenged by Hepburn and the ball broke to Yanga Molodo thirty yards out to shoot into the empty net.
But the visitors equalized with Bobby O’Loughlin beating two defenders and laying the ball for Kyrin Bogle to fire in off the post from the edge of the area past Lucas McGeady. Raphoe had a very good spell then with Bogle seeing a header cleared off the line by Tom Doherty, Anton Murtagh having an effort tipped around the post by MGeady and O’Loughlins header from a corner crashing off the crossbar. On the half hour against the run of play Aileach regained the lead with O’Donnells cross volleyed to the roof of the net by Molodo. But within minutes Raphoe levelled again with a Darren Kelly free finding O’Loughlin who nipped in behind the home defence to head home.Aileach started the second half well with a Doherty free finding Molodo who headed straight at Hepburn. They took the lead for the third occasion with Molodo finding Sean McHugh who laid the ball off for Matthew McDermott to shoot to the roof of the net. O Donnell then got on the end of an Aaron C Doherty cross but Hepburn made a superb save. The home side made it four two on 75 minutes when substitute Charlie Campbell beat his man and crossed for Dermot Doherty to volley low to the corner from twelve yards. Raphoe got one back on 83 minutes when an Oisin Harkin corner was not cleared and Kyrin Coyle poked the ball home but it turned out to be a mere consolation as Aileach saw the game out to advance.

Rashenny FC 2 AET Rashenny win 5-4 on pens
Cockhill started the stronger of the two sides and deservedly took the lead midway through the half when Niall Breslin scored from the penalty spot, sending Rashenny keeper Sam Coyle the wrong way to make it one nil to the home side.As the game settled down to a more even affair it was Cockhill who extended their lead just before the half. A fine move down the right saw Christy Doyle send in a great low cross and Niall Breslin finished first time at the near post to give the home side a two goal lead at the break. Rashenny regrouped showing their experience and found themselves right back in the match with two quick goals midway through the second half.First was Anthony Doherty with a towering header at the back post from a corner and minutes later it was Declan McLaughlin finding space at the back post to volley home past Eoin Colhoun.Neither team could find a breakthrough late in the match and extra time proved a bit of a stalemate with nothing to separate the two teams. Rashenny ran out winners 5-4 on penalties.

Division Two league leaders hosted Donegal Leagues Strand Rovers at Glencrow and there were no chances in the opening half hour. The visitors had a good spell then before the break with Jordan Mclaughlin making two excellent saves to deny Darren Gallagher once low to his right and then tipping a well struck volley over the bar. The visitors had another chance before half time but Dermot Harkin was on hand to clear a Shane O’Donnell effort off the line. Moville started the second half much better and on 55 minutes Norbert Indyka was denied by a last ditch Karl McGee tackle as he broke into the area. Marc Bell then tried his luck with a twenty five yards effort which drifted narrowly wide. The home side broke the deadlock after Michael McNaught was fouled inside the area and he converted the spot kick low past Patrick McGarvey. The home side sealed their progression to the next round when Indyka received the ball and beat a defender before slotting low past McGarvey.

The visitors got off to a dream start in the fifth minute when PJ Millar raced onto a Gavin Doherty through ball to chip the advancing Michael McCole. The home side replied with a Shaun Curran effort from the edge of the area saved by Eoin Callaghan in the visitors goal. Midway through the half the ball fell to Darren McMonagle on the edge of the area but he fired over the bar for the visitors. Just before the interval the home side got back on terms when Curran fed Darragh Conway inside the area and he drilled low to the net. Redcastle were first to show on the restart with McConway feeding Darragh Leitch but he was denied by a fine save from Callaghan. Just before the hour mark the visitors regained the lead with a swift attack through the middle which saw Darren Bradley run onto the ball to shoot low past McCole. Redcastle replied with Andrew McCarron advancing on the right and crossing to Leitch whose first time effort flashed just past the post. With the home side pushing they were caught in the final minute when a ball over the top released substitute Caoimhin McFeely to race clear and lob the ball over the advancing McCole.

As expected the Hearts had plenty of possession but they found the Rovers defence a hard nut to crack and chances in the opening half were few and far between. The first chance arrived on 14 minutes with a Caelan McConnell free headed over by Hugh Aaron McGonagle when well placed. They did take the lead midway through the half with Jack Bradley and Shane Monaghan playing a neat one two for Monaghan to fire low across Seamus Houghton for a fine finish. Houghton then kept Rovers in the contest when he saved a McConell header before the break. It was a similar pattern in the second half with Rovers defending stoutly but unable to threaten at the other end. On 56 minutes Jack Bradley controlled well and turned inside the area but Houghton was equal to his effort. They got the crucial second goal on 72 minutes when Liam Jordan broke on the right and crossed to the back post where McConnell headed past Houghton. In the closing stages both McGonagle and substitute Shane Dillon were off target with decent chances.

Garbhan Friel went close for the home side in the second minute when he shrugged off a defender in the right channel but fired narrowly wide across goal. They went close again with an Adam Duffy shot before Conor Doherty turned away a Friel shot but the pressure was building and told on seven minutes when a Tiernan Ruddy shot from the right of the D took a nick off a defender and found the bottom corner. Luke Rudden doubled the Cockhill lead o when he took a great touch in the inside left channel, cut inside and found the bottom corner with a great strike in off the post.It was three midway through the half when Harry Doherty came to the edge of his box to claim an Illies free kick and quickly released Rudden who advanced to lob over Doherty from the edge of the D.Illies came into the game after this with a probing run from Paul Duffy forcing Lee McColgan into a sliding challenge and then Jamie McDaid took a good touch in the box but again McColgan was on hand to clear. The first chance of the second half fell to Rudden on 49minutes after a Lee McLaughlin pass was flicked on by Friel finding Rudden but his left foot shot was just wide. Soon after substitute Damian Duffy went close with a right foot effort from the edge of the box.A good Illies move with good interplay between Paul Duffy and Jamie McDaid, ended with Paul Doherty going close with a well struck effort from just inside the box. At the other end Friel was close to a fourth for Cockhill but his header from a Lee McLaughlin cross was wide.
Cockhill went close again midway through the half when another substitute Liam Grant released Lee McLaughlin whose cross was initially cleared but when the ball came back to him he picked out Damian Duffy but his touch was slightly off and his shot was dragged wide. A flowing Cockhill move on 71 minutes involving substitutes Grant, Nathan McDaid and Stephen Duffy led to a goalbound Daniel Doherty shot from the penalty spot but Deaglan Bown cleared off the line before Grant headed wide from a McDaid cross minutes later. A driving run from defence from Odhran O’Brien Daly released McDaid down the left but his cross was well dealt with by Doherty.The last chance of the game fell the way of the home side when Adam Duffy made a ball his in midfield and played in Stephen Duffy but his dinked effort just cleared the crossbar.

QPS 2 AET Culdaff win 4-2 on pens


In tricky conditions after a heavy downpour before the game the visitors exerted early pressure on the home side forcing a couple of early corners which were cleared by the home defence.
At the other end a long free from Aiden Cunningham is flicked over QPS keeper by Taylor Bonner but the point defence clear the danger. A quick break by the home side saw Euan McFeely deliver a dangerous cross after a good run which just eluded both Bonner and Tiernan Cantwell. The visitors broke the deadlock before the interval after a Cillian McEleney corner fell to Daniel McMenamin who slotted home at the second attempt after Odhran Douglas had blocked the initial effort. Defences were on top on the restart with no chances at either end in the opening fifteen minutes. The visitors then doubled their lead when Jack McConellogue converted a penalty on 84 minutes and they looked to be in command. But from a Cunningham free kick Sonny Bonner powered a header past Burke. Culdaff pressed again and a Ben Curley effort drew a superb save from Burke. On the stroke of full time the home side equalised to force extra time after a Cunningham corner was met with a controlled sidefoot volley from Oisin McGeoghaghan, (pictured with Sonny Bonner) to the net. In the first period of extra time the Point forced three corners which the home defence dealt comfortably with. In the second period Burke punched an inswinging corner clear to Conor McColgan whose first time effort was superbly turned round the post by Burke at full stretch to his left.

Carn the first opportunity in the second minute after Kyran Cantwell advanced into the area but was denied by a Paddy Doherty last ditch tackle. Clonmany took a grip on the game then and in the 12th minute with Paddy Doherty heading over the bar from a corner.
Minutes later Gareth Bradley fed Aaron Porter on the left hand side and he advanced before crossing to Shane McCaul who looked all set to score but lost his footing at the vital moment and the chance was gone. Jamie McKinney then broke on the other side and his cross looked destined for Terence Doherty but Michael McDermott slid in to avert the danger. The Shamrocks opened the scoring on 28 minutes after Paddy Doherty won possession and spread the ball across the pitch to Terence Doherty who advanced , drawing keeper Daniel McDaid before calmly slotting low past him. Carn had the final chance of the half with a Ciaran O Kane free kick on the edge of the area blocked by the defensive wall. There was less action in the second half with the first attempt from the Shamrocks Paddy Doherty sailing over the bar from distance on 66 minutes. But on 78 minutes the home side were awarded a contentious penalty after Terence Doherty and O’Kane collided with Doherty converting the spot kick. Minutes later they sealed their progression to the semi finals when Doherty raced onto a long ball from Bradley to control well before slotting low past McDaid to record a hat-trick.

Cockhill Youths gained the win they needed to clinch the league title in this hard fought local derby at St Egneys Park. In a scoreless opening half it was very tight with defences on top and neither side able to bring a save from the respective keepers. The second half was a different affair and on 52 minutes Cockhill had their first chance. Paul Mullan crossed to Tiernan Moran inside the area but his first time effort was tipped over the bar by Sean Daly. From Mason McDaids inswinging corner Daly done superbly to tip the ball over again. Dunree responded just past the hour mark with an Adam Barrett free kick which was parried by Darragh O Donnell to Joe McCallion whose follow up was blocked on the line and cleared to safety. The home side had another good chance then after a fine through ball from Liam Baldrick sent Paddy Doherty clear but O’Donell turned his effort around the post. Cockhill finally broke the deadlock on 72 minutes after Conor McDaid released Mullan who slipped the ball low past Daly. McDaid then had a chance to double their lead but from a tight angle he fired just wide. Cockhill saw out the closing minutes to seal the win and the league title.

In very wet conditions in St.Patricks Park it was the home side who dominated most of the half with Gleneely defending well . In the 15th minute Cade Cooke had an effort on his left foot go just wide of the post . Cian Doherty then played a smart through ball to Daire Tully whose effort was blocked by the legs of keeper Rhys Kerr . Gleneely then had a counter attack and the ball found its way to Shane Diver who shot but a smart save from Kyle Harkin kept the game scoreless at the break . In the second half the weather conditions brightened up and so the did home side when Dylan Cooke played a ball to Cian Doherty who had a strike from 25 yards which found the bottom corner to open the scoring and put the home side in front . Very soon after that Keith Callaghan advanced down the right and played nice cross into Daire Tully whose flicked header found the far corner to double their lead . Carn had the remainder of the possession and held out for the clean sheet and three points .

The home side had an early effort from Ryan Mclaughlin which was well saved by keeper Sean O Neill. But the visitors opened the scoring in the 8th minute after James Henry released Luke McFadden on the left hand side of the area who cut inside and fired low past Ronan Lafferty in the home goal. Midway through the half Glengad equalised when a Joe Doherty effort from forty yards sailed over O’Neill to the roof of the net. But Greencastle regained the lead after a push in the area saw them awarded a penalty with Gerry Gill sending Lafferty the wrong way from the spot. The final chance of the half also fell to the visitors after Joe Curran evaded a challenge on the edge of the area but fired narrowly wide. Greencastle blitzed the home side with three goals in the opening five minutes of the second half. In the opening minute Gavin Harkin fed Seamus McLaughlin on the left and he cut inside into the area before drilling low past Lafferty from fifteen yards. A minute later a James Henry corner was cleared to the edge of the area where Brian McClean drilled low through a crowd of players to the bottom corner. The game was over as a contest then when on 50 minutes Lafferty parried a Gill free kick but Gavin Harkin was on hand to slot the loose ball to the net. Glengad tried to respond with a Caolan McColgan effort on 75 minutes off target. But Greencastle held firm to see out the game.

The game started off even with not many chances but Illies had a first chance with Kai Gallanagh crossing but Brendan Grant hit straight at Dylan Clarke in the home goal. Midway through the half Aileach had a chance with Gerry McKinney shooting over from twenty five yards. Then on the half hour Illies scored . Great work by Gallanagh who crossed over to Brendan Grant to shoot low passed Dylan Clarke into the corner. In the second half Illies scored on the 54th minute after good work from Brendan Grant who crossed for Dominick Coyle to score from close range. Aileach got back into the game on the hour after Aaron Doherty passed to Gerry McKinney who finished low under the keeper Christian Jackson from inside the area. But in the 77th minute Dominick Coyle got his second goal a free kick which the keeper saved it but Dominick scored the rebound. Jack McDaid added a fourth goal converting a corner at the back post before Illies made it five one with a wind assisted cross from Gallanagh which deceived Clarke.

In an entertaining game switched to the Muff venue the first half was uneventful with neither keeper really troubled throughout. The second half was the exact opposite as play swung from end to end. The colts opened the scoring on 55 minutes after a Kevin McDaid cross found Ciaran McGrory to head over the advancing Lee McColgan. The Point replied with a Michael McCarron effort well saved by Graham Doherty before McCarron played a ball through for Josh Boyle to run clear and slot home. Cockhill regained the lead midway through the half then after Ronan Walsh crossed for McGrory unmarked to slot home at the back post. QPS Youths got back on level terms after a back pass from a defender saw keeper Doherty slip and the ball rolled into the net. But with minutes remaining the Colts struck for the winner after Liam O Donnell won possession in midfield and fed substitute Peter Bradley to finish low to the corner from inside the area and clinch the points.

The home side done most of the damage in the opening half an hour and took the lead on 5 minutes when mark McGonigle headed a Cathal Crumlish cross past Hugh Devine. They made it two nil on 19 minutes then with Crumlish playing a through ball to Reece Gillen who fired high to the net from the edge of the area. They made it three nil on the half hour after a long ball by Adam Harkin found Crumlish to head past the advancing Devine. The visitors came more into the game after this forcing a number of corners which home keeper Brian Houghton dealt well with. Rovers did get a goal back on 55 minutes with Christopher Mclaughlin setting up substitute Michael Coyle to slot home from ten yards. Coyle then crossed for another substitute Stephen Mclaughlin who blazed over from six yards . Carrowmena responded and Crumlish raced clear of the rovers defence but fired wide. They regained their three goal cushion in the 72nd minute after McGonigle found Crumlish who rounded the advancing Devine to slot home. But Rovers rallied again and when Gary Farren crossed Christopher McLaughlin sidefooted home. Rovers hd the final chance also with an effort from distance by Christopher Mclaughlin well tipped over by Houghton.

The home side started well and dominated much of the opening half of this encounter. Gareth McKeever headed wide following an Aaron Harkin cross before a John G Doherty effort took a wicked deflection but Michael McLaughlin in the Glengad goal made a brilliant one handed save. Harkin then broke on the left wing and his low cross just eluded the inrushing McKeever who failed to connect at full stretch. MvKeever then had two chances in quick succession bt he scuffed his first effort and Mclaughlin gathered before shooting wide after he had outpaced the visitors defence. Glengad responded on 35 minutes with a martin Mclaughlin free finding Thomas McKinley whose header was saved by Ciaran Sharkey. The home side broke the deadlock on 40 minutes when McKeever intercepted a defensive pass just outside the area and fired powerfully to the roof of the net. But the visitors equalized in first half injury time with a Lee Kelly free kick which was superbly headed home by Calvin White. Glengad began the second half well and from another Kelly free White this time headed over when well placed. But the visitors took the lead on the hour mark after Kayden Taitt advanced before unleashing a powerful twenty five yards effort which flew past Sharkey. They had another great chance with Keelan McColgan breaking clear on the right only to be denied by Sharkey who grabbed the ball at the second attempt. In an identical situation minutes later McColgan made no mistake this time drilling low past Sharkey. Rashenny rallied and reduced the deficit with a Christopher Ivors free kick which was headed home by substitute James Barber. But the visitors regained their two goal cushion after a Martin Mclaughlin corner fell for substitute Adam McColgan to bundle the ball over the line from close range. Rashenny had a late chance but Barber failed to connect with an Ivers cross.

League leaders Culdaff made a blistering start to this game and took an early lead after a Stephen Farren cross was slotted low past Oran Doherty in the visitors goal. They added a quick second goal after Jack O Brien s cross was slotted low to the net by Hume for his second goal of the game. There was no let up by the home and they added another on 15 minutes when again O’Brien broke on the left and this time his cross was sidefooted to the net from six yards by Tiernan McGeoghaghan. O’Brien was then denied a goal himself when he rounded keeper Doherty only to see his effort cleared off the line by Lughaidh Duffy. But the home side made it four nil on 36 minutes when O’Brien beat a defender on the left and his cross was met by Caden Doherty to slot home. Culdaff added a fifth goal before half time after O’Brien intercepted a poor back pass to drill low past the stranded Doherty. The home side completely over ran the visitors in the second half with O’Brien adding three goals and Stephen Farren also getting on the scoresheet to make it nine nil. The visitors only threat on goal came from a Paul Jackson shot which was well gathered by Odhran Douglas.

The visitors dominated the first half with Darragh McCormick heading a Caelan Kavanagh cross wide before Matthew Doherty broke clear of the home defence but failed to hit the target. Carn opened the scoring on 15 minutes when a great run and cross from Davin Mclaughlin on the left was sidefooted home from six yds by Matthew Doherty, pictured right.
Greencastle replied with Ronan Doherty breaking clear of the Carn defence only for keeper Jack O’Brien to advance and smother at his feet. Carn resumed on top after this let off with Kyrin Doherty denied by Ciaran Bonner in the home goal before Matthew Doherty shot wide when well placed ten yards out. Greencastle had another chance on 41 minutes after Eunan McDaid threaded a ball through for Ronan Doherty but O’Brien advanced well to again smother at his feet. The final chance of the half fell to the visitors when Morgan McDaid made ground and his cross was met on the half volley by McCormick twelve yards out but went off target.
The home side began well on the resumption with Ronan Doherty just off target before Ryan Sharkey saw an effort saved by O’Brien. Carn upped the tempo and Bonner saved well to deny Dion Diver before Davin McLaughlin headed Divers cross just wide. They made it two nil just after the hour when a Dion Diver cross was flicked home by substitute Aaron McCarron.
Minutes later good work from Diver again saw him advance into the area and square the ball for Ethan Doherty to drill low to the corner from sixteen yards. The home side kept pressing and Sharkey was unlucky when his effort crashed off the crossbar before Mick McDermott beat two defenders on his way into the area but his effort was blocked. At the other end Diver weas denied twice by Bonner in the home goal before after a Shea canny effort came off the crossbar the ball fell to McCarron to slot home his second. McCarron, pictured right, then got his hat trick after Diver had set him up with a fine cross to make it five nil. The home side got a consolation with Ronan Doherty ,pictured left, blasting a penalty to the top corner after he had been fouled.
