Carn replied with a quick counter attack ending when Kyran Cantwell found Scott whose snapshot was well parried by Jonathan Noone .

On the half hour the home side made it two after a cross from PJ Miller was controlled by Darren McMonagle who side stepped a defender and curled a fine effort to the top left hand corner from 18 yards. On the hour Aileach had a glorious chance to extend their lead, a long clearance following a defensive corner released Darren Bradley but he pulled his shot wide from 12 yards with only McCole to beat. This proved an expensive miss as within  minutes  Redcastle were level when a defensive error allowed Lee Moore to stroke the ball into an empty net from 10 yards. On 70 minutes Aileach were unlucky not to regain the lead when following a corner from the left Gavin Doherty rose highest but his effort clipped the bar on the way over.
