Greencastle Res          1

There was little goalmouth action  in the opening half but  on 25 minutes the home side s Aiden Bambrick raced clear but Puaric Carey Doherty  saved well with his legs. Glengad then took the lead  before the interval when Chris Doherty broke forward and fed Shane Devlin who returned the ball to Doherty to fire low to the net from sixteen yards. The home side started the second half well and increased their lead on 55 minutes when Joe Doherty fed PJ McDaid and from twelve yards he finished low past the advancing keeper. On  66 minutes Greencastle’s Daniel Rowan lobbed Ronan Lafferty who made a fine finger tip save to tip the ball over. The visitors reduced the deficit on 74 minutes when Oran McDermott fired low to the corner from the edge of the area. Glengad had the final chance when a shot from Devlin deflected off a defender and onto the post but the Greencastle defence cleared.
