Gleneely Colts 5
Dunree Res 1
The Colts dominated for long periods and after a scrappy opening they broke the deadlock on 22 minutes when Christy Smith broke on the left and crossed for Joe McLaughlin to head home at the back post. Before the break Nathan McLaughlin had an effort from the edge of the area tipped over by Simon Taylor. They doubled their lead on 55 minutes when Smith broke on the left again and raced into the box to drill low past Taylor. It became three when Smith was the provider again crossing for Drew Crumlish who headed across goal to Cory O Brien and he blasted high to the net. It was one way traffic at this stage and when McLaughlin had a good effort well parried by Taylor the loose ball fell to O’Brien to slot home. Dunree rallied and got a goal back on 88 minutes when an inswinging Conor Doherty corner sailed all the way to the net. But the colts completed the scoring on the stroke of full time when Dylan McDaid fired home after a goalmouth scramble.
