Illies Celtic 1
Rasheney FC 0
Despite playing with the wind in the opening period Rasheney failed to take advantage and rarely troubled Johnathan Noone in the home goal.Indeed Illies threatened first when Paddy Doherty fed John Pio Donaghey but he drove wide from a good position. Rasheney responded and David McLaughlin found space but fired narrowly over from twenty yards. Before the break the home side made the break through when Dominic Doherty despatched a twenty yards free low to the corner past Damien Friel. Illies started the second half well and Paddy & Stephen Doherty and JP Donaghey were all off target with efforts. A Martin Coyle cross then found Paddy Doherty whose header was brilliantly saved by Sean Friel who took over in goal at half time.Rasheny finished strongly and Charlie Doherty had a dipping effort from twenty yards tipped over by Noone before in the final minute Noone was at full stretch to turn a Damien Friel effort around the post.
