Redcastle had much the better of the opening period and Ryan Duffy had an effort tipped round the post by Declan Caldwell and from the corner Caldwell made a stunning one handed save to deny Seamus Doherty. On 34 minutes another corner fell to Brendan Murphy who turned and saw his shot well saved by Caldwell. Cockhill replied and when James McGonigle found space his effort was well saved by McCole. McGonigle had the first effort of a tighter second half but it failed to trouble McCole. The move of the game came on 75 minutes when Andy McElhinney fed Kevin McDaid who advanced and released Michael Noone on the left and his brilliant cross was deftly flicked home by McGonigle from six yards. Redcastle tried hard to respond and Duffy had a late effort deflected just over the bar.
