Greencastle Res 1
Cockhill Res 1
In great conditions at Chapel Lane the homeside had an early chance when Callum McLaughlin advanced from the left and fired just wide from the edge of the area. On 5 Minutes a Tom Heuston free was parried by Gary Robinson who recovered to grab Daniel Rowan’s follow up. Greencastle then took the lead on the half hour when Pauric Gillen curled a superb twenty yards free to the top corner after he had been fouled. Cockhill replied with a Kevin McDaid corner punched clear by Pauric Carey-Doherty. They went close again with half chances from McDaid and Wesley Doherty but the home defence stood firm. On 51 minutes Cockhill equalised after a long clearance found Gary Breslin who squared for McDaid to round the keeper and slot home. Heuston then went close with a free kick turned round the post by Robinson on 72 minutes. At the other end home substitute Fergal McGuinness went on a mazy run but his cross was gathered at the feet of Heuston by Robinson as both sides had to settle for a share of the spoils.
