The rest of the half was all the home side were and they had chances through Stephen Doherty and Jordan Mc Geady. Rasheny startedthe second half brighter and John Mc Laughlin had an effort saved. But the home side had more chances through Ciaran Mc Grory and Doherty but they failed to covert. Rasheney pulled a goal back on 73 minutes when David Mc Laughlin converted a

rest of the game but couldnt get the goal with Eoin Sweeney coming the
closest with a over head kick.
Moville Celtic 4
Gleneely Colts 3
The visitors threatened first in the 3rd minute when Christy Smith won a race with a Moville defender from Corey O’Brien’s through ball to narrowly shoot wide of Ryan Coyle’s left hand post. The home side attacked in the 10th minute with a Ryan McColgan cross from the left which Nathan Harkin met but was well blocked by Darragh Canny for a corner. Gleneely took the lead in the 16th minute after O’Brien chipped the Moville defence allowing Smith to deftly hook the ball over the shoulder of the outrushing Coyle and into the home side’s net from sixteen yards. The lead lasted 10 minutes until Michael McNaught on the right crossed, the ball reaching Antonio Rea on the left hand side. His lay back to Conor Lafferty gave him time to curl an angled drive into the top right corner from twenty two yards past Ben Miller in the Gleneely goal. Smith had another chance to take the lead near the end of the first half but his shot went high and wide after a Moville defensive mix up.
Moville took the lead at the beginning of the second half when McColgan released McNaught on the right, his low cross from the edge of the box  being turned home from six yards by Lafferty . Gleneely equalised minutes later through O’Brien who, after winning the ball from a Moville defender, cut inside the box and powered home from an angle. One minute later Moville went three two ahead with McNaught’s cut back from the right letting Caolan Doherty smash past Miller from twenty yards. In the 67th minute it was four two after substitute Lee McColgan and Harkin combined to set up Doherty for his second with another drive to the far corner of the goal. Gleneely substitute Brian Houghton had Coyle at full stretch in the 73rd minute but  minutes later the visitors pulled one back when a long ball from Gavin McLaughlin caught out the Moville defence giving Coyle no chance from Nathan McLaughlin’s low drive to the bottom far corner. JJ Doherty had a chance to equalise with a header from a Gleneely corner but went wide near the end plus Miller did well to push Martin Smith’s header around the post at the other end.
Buncrana Res 0
QPS 6
Buncrana’s miserable start to the season continued as they shipped another heavy defeat to a superior QPS. As early as the third minute the Point signalled their attacking intent, when Stephen Harley cut through the Hearts’ defence and shot, forcing Ryan Sullivan into a fine one handed save. Hearts responded almost immediately when Mark Mc Fadden and Adam Duffy combined well to create a great chance but two Hearts’ forwards somehow spurn the chance to score into an empty net. Then on six minutes Stephen Harley scored the first of his two goals and this was followed minutes later when his brother Finbar scored, he went on to complete his hatrick.  Seamus Cusack added a sixth in the seventy fifth minute to complete the scoring.
Glengad Res 5
Cockhill Youths 2
In an entertaining free flowing encounter the home side broke the deadlock on 10 minutes after Brian Doherty found Gary Kelly who held off a defender before calmly sliding the ball past Gary Robinson. Kelly increased their lead after the half hour when he ran onto a John McDaid ball over the top and fired over Robinson to the roof of the net. But Cockhill got back into the game when Adam McLaughlin fed Keegan Hegarty and he fired low past Michael McLaughlin on the stroke of half time. Glengad upped the tempo on the restart and within minutes a Joe Doherty corner found Brian Doherty who headed across for Paul McGonigle to slot home. On the hour mark McGonigle found Kelly and he unleashed a superb effort to the roof of the net from twenty five yards  to complete his hat trick. But Cockhill rallied and a superb Conor Allen free found Adam McCarron who headed home from ten yards. With the visitors pushing they were caught on the break when Shane Devlin raced onto a long clearance and superbly lobbed Robinson from twenty five yards.

Jackie Crossan Premier Division
Culdaff FC 2
Clonmany Shamrocks 5
The shamrocks got off to a dream start on 7 minutes when veteran striker  Brendan Devlin controlled a diagonal ball over the top and flicked nicely past Darragh McLaughlin. They doubled their lead on 14 minutes after Devlin flicked don a corner a the near post for Oisin Hession to head home at the back post. But Culdaff reduced the deficit on 17 minutes after Aiden Cunningham robbed a defender and squared for Noel McLaughlin to control and slot the ball low past Patrick Harkin. Culdaff had a good spell and Michael Coyle was denied by a fine save from Harkin while Gary Smyth unmarked headed wide at the back post. Eugene McLaughlin then split the shamrocks defence for Coyle to run clear but he shot weakly at Harkin. On the stroke of half time a defensive error allowed Jason Devlin to cross to Jason Doherty who rounded McLaughlin to slot home. In the opening minute of the second period Doherty added a second after good neat build up play. Great work by Cunningham in the 55th minute  gave him a sight of goal but he fired over the bar from the edge of the area. Clonmany made it five one on 75 minutes after substitute Mark McLaughlin controlled a crossfield pass from Niall Mclaughlin and finished brilliantly from the right had side of the area high past Darragh McLaughlin. Culdaff rallied and substitute Matthew Mullarkey cut in from the right and curled a brilliant effort past Harkin and in off the post. Cunningham then had a snapshot superbly parried by Harkin and Jake Harkin completed the clearance to deny Coyle a tap in.
Carn FC 1
Aileach FC 3
In the early exchanges Darren McMonagle saw a twenty yards effort parried by Seamue Houghton while at the other end Darragh Deery fired wide from ten yards after Matthew McLaughlin and Cade Cooke combined to create the chance. Aileach got on top then and Anthony Doherty headed over before Houghton turned a Gavin Doherty effort round the post. The pressure told in the 43rd minute when Killian O’Rourke advanced and squared the ball to the unmarked Anthony Doherty who drilled low past Hughton from fifteen yards. Carn had the first chance of the second period but Shane Doherty fired wide from the edge of the area. Two goals in as many minutes sealed the points for the visitors. Firstly Dermot Doherty flicked on a corner for Cathal McElhinney to head to the roof of the net. Then a minute later McFeely flicked on a long clearance to McMonagle who raced clear and fired past Houghton. Carn kept pressing and substitutes Lorcan Bradley and Brandon Browne combined for the later to fire just wide. On 83 minutes the home side got a goal back when Michael McDermott broke on the right and crossed to Conor Doherty who flicked on to Ryan Kelly and he headed high to the net.
Buncrana Hearts 0
Illies Celtic 1
Buncrana started well and had the lions share of possession with Gerard Boyle, Eoin McNamee and Aaron McDaid all testing Johnathan Noone but he dealt capably with  them. Illies were always dangerous on the break with Liam Grant and Paddy Doherty especially prominent. Before the break Paul Doherty was well placed on the edge of the area but dragged his effort wide. The opening period of the second half was uneventful with play getting bogged down in midfield. Buncrana spurned their best chance on 62 minutes after McNamee was denied by a save from Noone but he will feel he should have done better when the chance presented itself. Illies then spurned a gilt edged chance after Liam Grant was upended in the area but his spot kick was superbly saved  low to his right by Eoghan O’Doherty. With the game looking to be heading for stalemate the home side lost possession allowing Adrian Donaghey-Doherty to race clear and feed John Campell whose  first time effort took a deflection on its way past O’Doherty.
Glengad United 6

But Glengad resumed in control  and after a Michael Byrne effort was brilliantly parried by McCole the loose ball fell to Conor Barrow to slot home. Jason Doherty and McLaughlin then combined to find Barrow who turned well and fired a superb effort to the top corner. CO Donnell Cup
Rasheney 7
Sea Rovers 4
In an free flowing game the home side started well with David Mclaughlin seeing an effort saved by Graham Morgan. McLaughlin then opened the scoring with a low shot from the angle of the area across Morgan to the far corner. The same player was then denied by a superb Tiernan Stephens tackle  before Rovers got back on terms when Damien Ward fired a superb free past keeper Kiaran O Neill. Rovers then took the lead when a Ward cross was palmed onto the bar for Gary Doherty to head home from close range. But the home side levelled with McLaughlin scoring a carbon copy of his first effort before John Grant gave them the lead after receiving a John McLaughlin pass inside the area to fire high past Morgan. On the stroke of half time they added a fourth with John McLaughlin scoring direct from a corner. Rovers Darragh O Connor had the final shot of the half but O’Neill saved well.Rovers reduced the deficit on 52 minutes when Evan Mclaughlin crossed for substitute Oisin McGonigle to blast to the roof of the net from ten yards. But Rasheney retored their two goal lead when Tyler McBride picked out David McLaughlin who swept the ball past Morgan . But again Rovers rallied and Ward fired an excellent free kick from the angle of the area past the wall and into the net. But late goals from substitute Paul McConalogue and John Grant sealed the win for the home side to round off an entertaining clash.
Gleneely Colts 3
Dunree United 1
Dunree got off to a great start when Philip McGuinness robbd a defender on the edge of the area and fired in off the post past Ben Miller in the home goal after 13minutes. But Gleneely gradullay came into the game  and before the break both Billy McCann and Nathan Mclaughlin failed to hit the target when well placed. The Colts began the second period well and Paul Gamble was unlucky to see his effort from the edge of the area clip the crossbar. They equalised on the hour mark when Cory O’Brien burst past three defenders before shooting powerfully past Philip Doherty from an acute angle. The home side were on top at this stage and McCann had an effort saved before O’Brien fired over from the edge of the area. Dunree responded and Miller had to be alert to tip over a Liam Baldrick free from the left. A defensive error on 84 minutesgifted the home side the lead and McCann took full advantage lifting the ball over Doherty from ten yards. They sealed the tie on the stroke of full time when O’Brien released his brother Evan and he fired low to the corner from fifteen yards.
QPS 2
Cockhill Youths 3
Cockhill Youths survived a late Quigley’s Point comeback to claim a 3-2 victory in Muff on Sunday afternoon.
The first half started evenly, with neither side gaining the upper hand. Mark McDaid had a good opportunity to put the visitors ahead early on but scuffed his effort straight at Point keeper Aidan Lynch when through on goal. On eighteen minutes the home side had a chance from a corner but Brian McColgan could not turn the ball goal-wards.
Cockhill began to take control and Jack McDaid’s tidy finish was ruled offside on twenty-five minutes. Four minutes later, they took the lead through Keegan Hegarty who picked up Jack McDaid’s layoff before unleashing a superb right-footed drive from twenty-five yards into the right corner.  Ten minutes later Adam McCarron picked up the ball inside the Point half and was unlucky to see his audacious forty-yard effort sail over the bar. The home side battled hard but were unable to create much against a well-organised Cockhill defence.
The visitors doubled their lead seven minutes after the break when Adam McLaughlin dinked a through ball to Jack McDaid, who beat the offside trap and slotted past Lynch into the bottom right corner. The Muff side continued to dig in and battle hard yet were lacking in the final third, and ten minutes later were almost three behind but for a goal line clearance from a Cockhill corner. The away side found the third on seventy-six minutes. Jack McDaid chased down a long ball, picking it up at the byline before squaring back to Mark McDaid at the edge of the Point box who finished low into the bottom left corner.
The Swifts refused to wilt however and were almost rewarded for their tenacity. Right back Bradley Callaghan was unlucky with a left footed effort on eighty-three minutes after a fine run into the Cockhill area. Three minutes later, Callaghan made the score 3-1 after tapping in at the back post from a good Stephen Harley cross.
With two minutes left, the deficit was reduced to one. John McCloskey raced through after a long clearance but his first effort was well saved by keeper Gary Robinson. The rebound fell to Callaghan who ran to the byline before squaring the ball to McCloskey who blasted home from eight yards.  The home side pushed hard for an unlikely equaliser but the visitors held firm to record a good victory.
Buncrana  Res 2
Glengad Res 2
Hearts got an early warning of what to expect when on five minutes Joe Doherty got free down the right and his cross found Paul Mc Gonagle at the back post, but under pressure from Craig Doherty he could only shoot wide. It was ten minutes into the game before Hearts tested Glengad keeper Mc Laughlin, Dale Kerr picked a loose ball up in midfield and played it into Christy Mc Kinley who laid it off to Adam Duffy but he hurried his shot and pulled the ball wide of the goals. Glengad’s keeper Michael Mc Laughlin was finally called into action when he comfortably saved a Dale Kerr free kick on twenty two minutes. After this Glengad dominated territorially and a Gary Kelly header just narrowly missed the target before a defensive mix up by Hearts allowed Paul Mc Gonagle to score from close range.
The second half started with Glengad still on top and it was no surprise when they doubled their lead when Gary Kelly headed home Joe Doherty’s cross from the right in the fifty fifth minute. Buncrana rang the changes and the introduction of Ben Bradley, Michael Doherty and Niall Henderson changed the match. For the first time in the match Buncrana put the Glengad defence under pressure and this paid off in the sixty sixth minute when a Kyle Bradley corner fell to Christy Mc Kinley and he shot low and hard from fifteen yards to the bottom left hand corner. Momentum was now with Buncrana and on eighty two minutes Niall Henderson was on hand to bundle the equaliser over the line and set up a nervous final few minutes for Glengad. Buncrana should have taken all three points when Peter Gallagher broke down the left side of Glengad’s defence and his cross picked out Michael Doherty who shot over the bar from six yards.

Clonmany Res 3
Culdaff Res 1
Clonmany got off to the better start and Pearse McCarron fired over before a dangerous Nathan McKinney cross was well cut out by keeper John Collins. Their early pressure was rewarded on 11 minutes after Collins done well to parry a Michael Devlin effort but McCarron was on hand to slot the rebound home. Culdaff tried to respond and Matt McDaid fired an effort from distance narrowly wide. But Clonmany kept pushing and McCarron fired wide before on 35 minutes Devlin fed McKinney who beat two defenders and fired low past Collins to make it two nil. Culdaff got back into the game on 43minutes after McDaid advanced from midfield and unleashed a screamer to the top corner from twenty yards. But Clonmany started the second period the better and increased their lead on 53 minutes after Paul Devlin fired a lovely low effort from the edge of the area to the bottom corner giving Collins no chance. Collins then saved well from David McGonigle and McKinney before the visitors rallied. Firstly Paddy McCarron fired just wide before a Mark Doherty free was well gathered by Caolan McCarron in the home goal. In the closing stages Conor Doherty headed over and McCarron volleyed wide as the home side advanced to the quarter finals.
Aileach Yths 2
QPS Res 0
Aileach came out on top in this well fought local derby in superb
conditions at Lakeside.  The early exchanges were played at a frenetic pace
with tackles aplenty but chances at a premium.  On the half hour, Aileach
had a great chance when Benny Hegartys pass was flicked into the path of
Pol McGrory by Aaron Doherty but McGrory’s shot from fifteen yards clipped the post and went wide.  Aileach had the better of the game at this stage but
couldn’t find a way past the point rearguard.  Five minutes before the
break the point came close when Josh McConnalogue’s shot was tipped over by Ryan Fox in the home goal.  Aileach started well at the beginning of the
second half and Stephen Doherty ran on to a Declan O’Donnell through ball
but blazed over when well placed.  Aileach came close again when Seamus
O’Donnell fired narrowly over from twenty yards.  On the hour, Doherty missed another great chance to put the game to bed when he received a pass from Hegarty at the edge of the box and curled an effort narrowly past the left
post with Wallace in the QPS goal stranded.  With 15 minutes to go, QPS got
a lifeline when Rhys Rutherford was upended in the box.  Marc Wallace took
the spot kick by was denied by a great save by Fox away to his right.
Minutes later Fox was to the rescue again when a cross into the box was
fired goalwards by Josh McLaughlin but Fox tipped his effort round the
postAileach came close to doubling their lead when the hard working
Darren Bradley fired a shot from 20 yards that was well held by Wallace.
Aileach made the game safe with 10 minutes to go when Josh Lynch found
Seamus O’Donnell at the edge of the box and he shot into the bottom left
cornerAileach had a late chance to add some gloss to the scoreline when
Liam Watson fed Ryan Wilson and his fierce shot was saved by the legs of
Wallace.
Greencastle Res 5
Dunree Res 0
The home side dominated the first half and on 18 minutes a Kevin McLaughlin effort was tipped onto the bar by Ryan Fitzpatrick. They took the lead midway through the half after a ball broke on the edge of the area to Benny McDermott who hit a superb half volley to the top corner. They increased their lead on 37 minutes after a long Killian Dougal pass found Tom Heuston who slipped the ball low past Fitzpatrick. Before the break veteran striker Joe Doherty beat two men and advanced into the area but Fitzpatrick saved well. Dunree had the first chance of the second period and were unlucky when a Peter O’Neill effort from twenty five yards clipped the post. Heuston and Doherty were then off target for the home side before Heuston had two efforts saved. Greencastle made it three on 72 minutes when an inswinging corner from Doherty deflected off a defender to the net.Five minutes later it was four after substitute Ryan McDermott crossed for Heusto to side foot home from close range. In the final minutes McDermott then laid the ball back to Adam Harkin who with the outside of his right foot struck a superb effort over Fitzpatrick to the far corner.
Cockhill Res 2
Moville Res 5
Moville got off to a dream start and found themselves two up inside the
first few minutes. Danny Murphy opened the scoring for Movile inside the
first minute when a he was quick to react to a through ball catching the
Cockhill defence cold as the lobbed the ball over the advancing Gary
Robinson in the Cockhill net. Moments later Moville were two up, a good run
down the left by Josh Gillen who crossed to the near post for Danny Murphy
to grab his and Moville’s second inside the opening minutes with a fine
header. Despite the early set back Cockhill grew in to the match and
created a few good opportunities however another lapse in concentration
allowed young Josh Gillen to cut in from the left and fire a good low
strike past Gary Robinson to make it three for Moville. Cockhill almost pulled
one back after some good play, Wes Doherty found himself in space just
inside the box but his effort went narrowly wide. On the stroke of half
time Moville got their fourth goal of the match, Kevin McDermott glancing in a
header at the back post. Cockhill kept going and had a number of early
chances in the second half and eventually got the breakthrough when Tristan
Donaghy chased a good through ball, putting the Moville keeper, Pauric
Doherty, under pressure and winning the ball to slot home from a tight
angle. Pauric Doherty was called in to action again shortly after as
Cockhill kept pressing as he saved a good free kick effort from Daibhidh
Grant. As Cockhill kept pushing forward trying to get back in to the game they
were caught with a quick break away. They recovered well but the cross in
to the box came off Kevin McDermotts head and looped in to the Cockhill net
past Gary Robinson. Moville were awarded a late penalty but Gary Robinson
made a fine save from Graeme Doherty’s effort. Cockhill got another goal
back late on with Gary Breslin heading in past Pauric Doherty at the back
post just before full time.
