Underage Elite Football cancelled due to Government guidance
The Football Association of Ireland is disappointed to inform its players, coaches, parents/guardians, volunteers and supporters that the return of all underage National League matches for boys and girls from Under-13 to Under-19 level, beginning this weekend, has been cancelled on the guidance of Government.

The Football Association of Ireland is delighted to support the announcement by Minister Catherine Martin and Minister for State Jack Chambers of the launch of the Sports Capital and Equipment Programme (SCEP) by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts Gaeltacht, Sport and Media.

Cessation of Grassroots and Underage
football matches in Donegal
Following the introduction of Level 3 COVID-19 restrictions in Donegal, the Football Association of Ireland announces the cessation from midnight tonight of all Adult Amateur and Underage football matches in Donegal with the exception of elite football – namely the SSE Airtricity League and all five underage National Leagues.
Furthermore, any coach or player resident in Donegal but involved with an Adult Amateur or non-elite Underage club outside of the county is not permitted to travel outside Donegal for any football activity. Likewise, coaches or players resident outside of Donegal are not permitted to travel to Donegal for any non-elite football activity.
Adult amateur and non-elite Underage clubs in Donegal can continue to train under non-contact conditions as per the Government Guidelines outlined in the ‘Resilience and Recovery 2020-2021 – Plan for Living with COVID-19’ programme and in conjunction with the updated FAI Safer Return to Training Protocol.
The FAI will continue to monitor Government guidelines for Donegal and will update this cessation order as required.
