Four goals in the first half from Pat Loughrey, Michael Doherty (2) and Paul Mc Daid established a stranglehold on the game that this young Hearts side never relinquished. Loughrey was a constant threat and he opened the scoring on fifteen minutes, cutting in from the left and giving keeper Mc Gilloway no chance from eighteen yards. Five minutes later he turned provider for Michael Doherty to score. Then Paul Mc Daid added a third with a close range header before Doherty got his second and Hearts fourth with a header when he found space at the back post.Hearts then added four more in the second half with Christy Mc Kinley, Ryan Doherty, Ruairi Connolly and Adam Doherty all getting their names on the score sheet.
