Reversed to Caratra Park the home side spurned a gilt edged chance after Joe O Connor fed Patrick McGrenaghan but well placed he blazed over the bar on 13 minutes. Buncrana then took the lead when a Lee Sean Doherty effort was well parried by Adam Conlon but Paul McDaid slotted the rebound home. The home side rallied and levelled before the break after a deep cross from Martin Keddy was slotted home at the back post by McGrenaghan. But the visitors regained the lead on 48 minutes when Michael Doherty collected a throw in ,turned and drilled low to the bottom corner. They made it three one on the hour mark after Ryan Doherty rose unchallenged to head home a corner. Culdaff rallied and reduced the deficit when a Bryan McCandless cross found Seamus McLaughlin who teed  up McGrenaghan to slot home his second. But Buncrana made it four two on 78 minutes when a superb through ball from McKinley released McDaid and he finished well from eight yards. The home side tried hard but the visitors defence stood firm.
